Creating A Loving World

Here in Columbus OH, I attend a Spiritual Center called Inspirational Gatherings pioneered by Rev. Linda Poole Kennedy. During this special season of Lent, she has prepared a daily lesson based on love's transforming power. Each message has been beautiful, but this lesson particularly moved me today.

CREATING A LOVING WORLD
“Finally , all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love for one another, a tender heart, and a humble mind.” ---I Peter 3:8 The “idea” of a loving world may seem “far-fetched” to some, a dream to others, and to others an impossibility. There appears to be many obstacles to this becoming a reality. A story in A Cup of Chicken Soup for the Soul: “The Obstacle in Our Path”, by Brian Cavanaugh, relates the simple actions that can be taken to remove the obstacles to creating a loving world. “In ancient times, a king had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the kingdom’s wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the king for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the big stone out of the way. Then a peasant came along, carrying a load of vegetables. On approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. As the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the king indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The peasant learned what many others never understand: Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve one’s condition.” Robert Muller, who has had a long and distinguished career with the United Nations, said “an idea, if you repeat it long enough, becomes accepted.” He kept repeating the idea of ending the Cold War and eventually it did come to an end. The obstacles in our path can be moved with a willing spirit and repeated, persistent effort. “Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve one’s condition.” Collectively we can create a loving world by individually holding to that “idea”. The key is persistent, repeated effort in a “unity of spirit, love for one another, a tender heart and humble mind. “ And guess what? Repeated long enough, it will happen! And guess what else? It will have an effect on your life……”as you give, so shall you receive.”

BE TRANSFORMED BY THE POWER OF LOVE and declare: I persistently hold the idea of a loving world in my mind and SEE it realized! And I am grateful for the blessings of a unity of spirit!

What Me Worry?

There is song by Kanye West on his 808 and Heartbreak CD in which the song says "You're worried about the wrong thing." I connected with that song instantly because a lot of times in my life, I was worried about the wrong thing and that worry increased the very essence of what I was worrying about in my life.

So what is worry? Dictionary.com defines worry as verb:to torment oneself with or suffer from disturbing thoughts; fret or as a noun: a worried condition or feeling; uneasiness or anxiety.
a cause of uneasiness or anxiety; trouble.

For many years I was worried about not having enough money and I attracted into my experience the condition of not having enough money. Here is where the paradigm shift comes in. There is a very subtle difference between needing and wanting. Simply speaking, wanting is a focus on that which you want to experience, needing comes from a feeling of lack.

The book Law of Attraction by Jerry and Esther Hicks states it this way, "Focusing on a solution(wanting) makes you feel a positive emotion. Focusing on problem(worry) makes you feel negative emotion, and while the differences may be subtle, they are very important, for when you are feeling positive emotion, you are attracting into your experience that which you want. When you are feeling negative emotion, you are attractin into your experience that which you dont want. So I ask the question, are you focused or worried?

Flourishing in So called "Tough Economic Times"

Soul Purpose Lifestyle Company® Flourishes in Tough Economic Times

Soul Purpose Lifestyle Company

Nadine Thompson

Exeter, NH (BlackNews.com) - National Personal Care and Wellness Company Soul Purpose® announced today its unprecedented growth during times when many companies are experiencing layoffs and cutbacks. A privately held company, Soul Purpose does not publically disclose financial statements. However, Soul Purpose® President, Nadine Abraham Thompson stated that the company has experienced a gain in sales in excess of 25% for the first two months of 2009. Soul Purpose began sales of their nature based line of high quality personal care products less than one year ago in May 2008. Today, Thompson states that their entrepreneurs have sold over $1 million dollars in products in less than 12 months of phased in sales. This is unprecedented for a start-up direct sales company especially in these challenging financial times.

The rapid rise in sales and recruiting can be attributed to several factors, stated Nadine Thompson, "In an economic downturn such as the one we are experiencing, we generally see an increase in the number of people seeking additional income streams, often outside of mainstream business. With the unemployment rate currently hovering around 8.1% nationwide and foreclosures at an all time high, a lot of people are looking for a way to make ends meet. Soul Purpose provides that opportunity for them."

Is network marketing recession-proof? Over the past 12 months, the number of unemployed persons has increased by 4.1 million and the unemployment rate has risen by 2.7 percentage points. While traditional companies are downsizing, the number of people turning to network marketing has steadily increased during that same period. In fact, some are saying the next 5 years will be the golden age of network marketing.

Soul Purpose's increase in sales has come primarily from their core personal care and wellness products, as well as the addition of Tru Chocolate, a healthy weight management chocolate that has taken the nation by storm. Known as the "Guilt-Free Chocolate," TRÛ Nutrition's TRÛ Chocolate was originally created as a healthy and tasty treat for calorie conscious people. Today, it is a delicious treat everyone can enjoy, boasting many healthful benefits not found in other chocolates. Each serving contains only 36 calories, an ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) score of 3040, and a proprietary herbal blend that promotes healthy blood-sugar levels without sugar or artificial sweeteners. As a result, TRÛ Chocolate is becoming increasingly popular amongst dieters and health-conscious consumers everywhere.

Soul Purpose also attributes its success to their partnership with Youngevity Life Sciences®, well known in the network marketing industry for its emphasis on high-quality mineral and liquid nutritional products, is the only MLM company to achieve authorized Health Claims through the FDA.

Dr. Joel Wallach and Dr. Ma Lan founded Wellness Lifestyles Inc. in April of 1997, which then adopted the global brand "Youngevity" in April 2006. Youngevity®, now a leading designer of dietary supplements and cutting-edge personal care and wellness lifestyle products, was founded with the intent to help people "Live Younger Longer!", and markets worldwide through a network of independent distributors. With Global headquarters in Chula Vista, California, Youngevity® holds international offices in Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

Soul Purpose's Founder, Nadine Thompson, who rose to national prominence as the co-founder, president and CEO of Warm Spirit-a unique direct sales company launched a new socially-responsible enterprise entitled SOUL PURPOSE LIFESTYLE COMPANY in January 2008. The new company's focus is on ensuring individual, community, national and global empowerment through the offering of a direct sales business model.

SOUL PURPOSE has four components: Body...innovative bath and body products with beautiful, elegant and distinctive fragrances; Beauty...organically inspired skin care products for both women and men. Organic earth minerals for a natural approach to beauty cosmetics; Style...soft silk throws handcrafted in India, and organic teas from Viet Nam, organic wild-crafted honey from West Africa; Spirit...journals, candles, inspirational music, books and tapes-a holistic line that addresses all aspects of beauty from the inside out.

Says Thompson: "My hope is that SOUL PURPOSE will be the kind of company that will challenge people to redefine the things that really matter in life. Redefine the notion of beauty, sense of style and empowerment."

SOUL PURPOSE will create a "green company" from the ground up...beginning with the product line. All products will be natural and botanically based, as well as organic, and sulfate and paraben free. "We will use recycled paper, vegetable-based inks and a recycling program for all of our product containers for our customers and distributors," says Thompson.

SOUL PURPOSE, while appreciating the need for empowerment in the African American community, understands that this need is applicable to all women, in all communities. The company is dedicated to providing entrepreneurial opportunities and resources to empower people (with a focus on African-American, Hispanic, Asian and Native American women), and will create a global network of empowerment partners by building community with its consultants and vendors.

As a socially-responsible direct selling company, Soul Purpose will redefine empowerment in support of fulfilling individual purpose and vision through the marketing of exquisite, quality products illuminating body, beauty, style and spirit...one person at a time.

Are You Worth It?

I like to believe that for the most part, we are a pretty happy and well adjusted community. Maybe that is my positive-rose colored-Pollyanna attitude at play but never the less, most of the people I hang around seem to have it together. There is the other part of us that when we dare to dream something big, we sometimes suffer from drama or sabotage trying to obtain that goal.

I discovered that a lot of our dis-ease, dis-comfort, and dis-illusionment stems from a subconscious and often unknown belief that we are not worthy. Maybe somewhere along the line, we have felt guilty for achieving or someone we love questioned who we thought we were because we had felt moved to reach a higher plane in life. Perhaps in our childhood we were led to believe that we could never, be, do, or have what we wanted. I am here to tell you that absolutely is not true.

We can in fact be, do, or have anything we desire but we must first be in alignment with that which we call our Higher Self, or God, or the Universe. Pretty much everyone I know has studied the Law of Attraction in some form or another but this goes beyond thinking positively.

As our Christ Consciousness, or Higher Self knows that we are beings pressed forth out of the image and likeness-that means we are not anything different from that which we came. So this in fact means that we are worthy, good, special, talented, creative, deserving, beautiful(just the way we are), inspired, free, sexy, and unlimited. We can add to that any and all of the other labels we use to describe God. That is the truth of our being and when we are in a happy state of mind, most of the time we feel these things about ourselves. It is when we step out of that vision of ourselves into something negative such as bad, fat, ugly, worthless, and so on that we feel negative emotions. Those negative emotions mean we are out of alignment with our Higher Being. We are out of alignment because our Higher Being disagrees.

So, with all that being said, how do we in fact get back into alignment and feeling worthy about ourselves so that we may attract the things we want into our lives? Here are some simple steps to help achieve feelings of self worth because after all you cant attract your good without feeling good first.

  • Affirmations-Affirmations are defined as statements asserting the existence or the truth of something or the act of affirming or asserting or stating something. Here are a few to try:
  • I love and approve of myself
  • I deserve all that is good
  • I am grateful for a full and wonderful life
  • I am love, loved and loving

  • Attitude of Gratitude An attitude of gratitude can switch your thinking from what is lacking to what you have available to you now.

  • Live in the Now Living in the moment goes hand in hand with an attitude of gratitude simply because there leaves little time to focus on negativity that has happened in the past or stressing about the future.
  • A little exercise to help stay in the moment is, Ask yourself, "Can I do anything about this right now?" If the answer is no, than it is none of your business. Which means have faith in the attraction power of your positive attitude and positive feelings, let God handle it and hold on to your joy.

Are you Closer to your Dreams?
